Claire Pictures

I'm going to throw 4 1/2 months worth of pictures and updates into one! Here goes, outline-style:

  • At around 5 weeks, Claire started smiling. By 7 weeks, she would smile at Aidan, Ben, and me.
  • Around 12 weeks, Claire started laughing. Saying certain words can make her laugh, like "Ahhh boom!"
  • Around 13 weeks, Claire rolled from her tummy to her back. She loves to be on her tummy.
  • Also around 13 weeks, Claire could hold her head steady when in an upright position.
  • When Claire turned 4 months old (October 1st), I put her in the Around-We-Go toy. She absolutely love it, because she can be upright, her feet touch the floor, and she can use her hands to touch the toys and make the music play.
  • In the past 3 weeks, Claire has mastered the art of grabbing something and bringing it to her mouth. She wants to put everything in her mouth! It seems as though she's getting ready to get a tooth, so she wants to gnaw on everything she can and the drool is flowing quite freely!
  • On October 7, Claire measured 15 lbs, 14.5 oz and 26 1/4" long. That put her in the 98 percentile for length and 88 percentile for weight. On October 19, Claire was measured at 16 lbs, 2.5 oz and 26 1/2" long. She's a tall girl!
  • Claire will be 5 months old on November 1st, and is just about ready to start eating 'solid' food. We'll probably try sweet potatoes to see how she does.

Aidan the Photographer

I have a small digital camera that I got a couple years ago for my birthday.  Aidan has decided to hijack it and use it as his own.  He loves to go around the house, taking pictures of anything and everything.  Here is a sampling of his photography:
There are a lot of these types of photos.

Foot.

Mom and Dad from the nose to the shins.

I think this one is especially good.

As you can see, we have a budding Ansel Adams on our hands!
