Help around the house

Water Dawgs

Aidan loves water.  Last week while mom was studying for her architecture exam, dad and Aidan played in the freezing cold water out back.  Things got a little out of hand and Aidan lost his pants somewhere!

Hey dog that is my water, back off.  It is really funny to watch Aidan pet Friday, since they are both about the same mental age.  Aidan sort of sticks his arms out and closes his eyes and walks towards Friday, he misses once in a while, but all in all it is successful.  Sarah says it probably feels a lot like petting a horse for us.

Hold still I am going to bite your ear off.  Friday is much more patient with Aidan lately, I think it is because Aidan can now throw the ball for Friday and that is pretty much all it takes to be a dogs best friend.

Green Pjs

Here are a couple of pictures of the little monster.  We found a mini skateboard at the park last week and he loves to play with it.  I think with babies it isn't about the toy but more about the fact that it is new.

Aidan has learned to understand so many new words over the past few weeks.  He even seems to try and repeat most of the words that he recognizes.

Rocking Duck

eating all the time

Sloppy Joes were a big hit, although Aidan sort of licked off the sloppy part and left the bun in place.
What? I'm hungry.

We went to Mexican food with Grandma and she was spoiling Aidan rotten, first she gave him salsa and then pepsi!

What up my peeps

We have been spending a lot of time outside the last few weeks.  It has been a mess at home, Sarah is studying for her Architecture exam, Aidan is running like Carl Lewis, and Ben is busy with work and trying to learn how to play the guitar.

13 Months...but who's counting?

Today Aidan is 13 months old...otherwise known as "one."

He continues to grow and amaze us each day.  Some of Aidan's new talents include trying to climb on things, especially the dishwasher and dining room chairs.  He has discovered how to open the lid to the toilet, so now we have to keep the bathroom doors closed at all times.  He can eat just about anything we give him, despite his lack of teeth (he still has six total), and wants to eat whatever we have in our hands at the time.

Aidan loves to go outside and enjoys riding in his new wagon.  The wagon is a great new concept to him, because we can give him little containers of food and his sippy cup, and he can eat at a leisurely pace while admiring the goings on around the park.  It's probably his idea of a perfect day.

Aidan has also become a master of napping and sleeping.  He lets us know when he's ready to go to bed by becoming very cuddly, and if we ask him, "Do you want to go night-night?" he will respond by waving as he walks down the hall toward his room.  Most of the time when we lay him down he will go right to sleep without a fuss.  It wasn't always this way, so it's quite an amazing new development!  He's been taking nice long naps lately, and has been sleeping pretty consistently throughout the night.  Occasionally he will wake up and scream for a bit, but he gets himself back to sleep fairly quickly.  He generally sleeps from 7:30 pm until 7:00 am, so we can't complain about that!

Here are some snapshots from the past month.

My first experience with the bubble machine.

I decided I needed to get on the table to color with my crayons.

Aidan loves to read!

He must take after his mom...

The cutest new thing that Aidan does is go grab a book and bring it back over to me, then sit himself down on my lap.  He loves to turn the pages!

King Kong and the Blocks

What's this, a nice stacking of blocks just sitting here?

I just want to have a closer look, say what does that say on the side of one of the blocks?

I think it says, knock me over?

Well if you say so.....

I am going to stack them higher then before this time and knock them over again.
