One Month Old

March 11, 2008 - Today is Aidan’s one month birthday.  Can you believe it?  It has gone by so fast – seems like just yesterday that he was born.  He has changed so much in the past four weeks.  I look at pictures of him from when he was born and he looks like a completely different baby today.  He has his good days (today – lots of sleep and in a good mood) and his bad days (yesterday – no naps and cranky!).  He sleeps pretty well at night, usually about 3 hours at a time so I only have to get up to feed him twice at night.  I can handle that!

Aidan loves to play in his baby playground, he enjoys falling asleep in his swing, and he loves car rides and going for walks in his stroller.  He especially loves to eat (mostly during the day) and be held, and hates to have his diaper changed unless he’s in a really good mood to begin with.  He is getting so strong – putting clothes on is becoming a fight with those little arms and legs moving all over the place!  We practice tummy time everyday to help strengthen his neck.  He tries to hold his head up when we carry him on our shoulder, but it still flops around quite a bit so he needs extra support.  Aidan also is able to focus much more on mommy and daddy and likes to look at toys when we’re changing his diaper.  He can even follow us from side to side if we move slowly. 

So far, Ben and I have gone out to eat once at Panda Express, and he slept the whole time.  We also made a trip to Sacramento last Saturday, and that was very successful, though exhausting.  He was held all day long which he loved, but was so tired and slept the whole way home.
